HEATHER NELSON [BALLET, POINTE]. Heather is a graduate of the University of Utah Ballet Department, having earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet Instruction and Performance. She has received Associate and Registered Teacher Status of the Royal Academy of Dance, after achieving Distinction on her Advanced II Ballet examination and completing the Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies Program.
As a Soloist with the San Diego Ballet (2002-06) and as a Featured Dancer and Principal Swing in Don Arden’s Jubilee! at Bally’s Las Vegas (2006-2010), she performed numerous created and repertoire roles.
After dancing professionally for eight years Heather has recently retired to pursue a career teaching, and to spend time with her growing family. She aspires to pass on the love and joy of dance that has been so generously given to her through countless hours of instruction from caring and passionate professionals.
NICOLE MACKENZIE [MUSICAL THEATRE, JAZZ, TAP] “Miss Nikki” comes to us by way of New York City, where she lived the last 10 years. Nicole is a Port Charlotte High School graduate and studied dance from the time she was 5 years old. She attended college at Point Park University, where she majored in Musical Theatre with a minor in Dance. She graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. While at Point Park she performed at the American College Theatre Festival XXXIV Showcase at The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. as the lead role in that years featured performance “Grand Hotel.” She also gained honorable mention as the Top Performers of the 2001 Theatre Season by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette for her role as “Elizaveta Grushinskaya” in the same show. Nicole’s passion for the arts have brought her and her husband Aiden, back to FL in order to cultivate their individual passions, while enjoying the sunshine. Nicole is excited to pass on her wealth of knowledge and experience in the theatre world to the next generation of entertainers.
NICOLE FATTORUSSO [BALLET, CONTEMPORARY] Nicole has been moving and in love with dance since she was a young girl. She began training at a local studio in Port Charlotte, Fl. as well as Elite Fine Arts Academy. She has received training in a plethora of dance genres such as Jazz, Tap, Musical Theater, Hip Hop, Pointe, and Modern. Beginning high school, Nicole knew that she wanted to take her training a step further, so she auditioned and attended Booker High School’s Visual and Performing Arts program in Sarasota, Fl. It is there that she fell in love with dance even more and decided it would be her life career.
Upon attending college, Nicole started out at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA as a BFA dance student. Circumstances led her back home to the sunshine state and into University of South Florida. Nicole is a recent graduate from USF with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in dance performance, magna cum laude. While at USF Nicole had the opportunity to perform the work of Andrew Carroll, Michael Foley, Bliss Kohlmyer, Paula Nunez, Andee Scott, and Jeanne Travers. Recently she was selected to perform in guest artist’s work “Echad Mi Yodea”excerpts from Minus 16, choreography by Ohad Naharin and restaged by Yaniv Abraham of Batsheva Dance Company in Tel Aviv, Israel. Nicole’s choreographic work, “Over Again” was selected to perform at the 2014 American College Dance Festival’s southeast conference in Georgia. While at the festival she also had the opportunity to perform Bliss Kohlmyer’s work, “Let go, Let go, Let go” that was selected to perform in the final Gala performance.
Nicole is excited to return to her roots and take the next step into her career as an artist and teacher.
SARAH SARKANY [TAP, JAZZ, CONTEMPORARY]. Sarah started dancing at the age of 3 in Warren Ohio. She started her competing career at age 9 throughout the states of Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee & South Carolina. She moved to Florida where she continued competing receiving high scores.
Upon graduating Venice High School in 2004, she followed her love of dance to college at Oklahoma City University. While attending school she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority, Students of Arts Managements and Relay for Life. Through her college experience she was worked numerous of concerts, dance competitions, & dance/theatre shows learning all aspects of show business. She graduated from OCU with a BS in Dance Management. She moved back home to tend to her family & continue her love for kids & dance. Miss Sarah wishes FABULOUSNESS to all her students!
KAYLA FRAME has been participating in gymnastics and acrobatics since she was a year and a half. She has competed in three Junior Olympic Games! Kayla was first string for Team Florida and placed Gold on Balance Beam, Silver on Floor Exercise, and Bronze in All-around. She also attended two Junior Olympics for Cheerleading, Trampoline, and Tumbling. She received a Gold for her All-Star Team, Silver for her cheer solo, and a Bronze for her five man stunt team. The knowledge from these sports helped Kayla achieve her Varsity Letter in Diving during her Freshman Year at Charlotte High. Kayla has worked one on one with a USAG certified Judge and Choreographer on more than one occasion and has attended several Olympic Clinics working with Olympians such as: John Roethlisberger, John MacCready, Carly Patterson, Jason Gratson, and Morgan White.
Kayla has also been dancing nearly as long as she has been tumbling. She has studied numerous styles of dance including Jazz, Hip Hop, and Contemporary. She is a Port Charlotte High Graduate and is currently attending college to reach her ultimate goal of Dentistry. Kayla is entering her 5th season with Elite and is very excited to pass on her love for tumbling and acrobatics to its students. Elite is happy to have her join us again!
LESLIE YOUNG-PINES [CIRCUS/ACRO] Leslie Young-Pines started dancing at the age of three at her mom’s studio in Sarasota, Florida. There she studied ballet, tap, jazz, modern, and acrobatics. Her passion for travel and the circus took her away from Sarasota performing on the road throughout the world and then to Las Vegas. After a seven year stint in Las Vegas, she missed the road and ended up on Ringling Bros circus, and travelling as top halftime act for the NBA. Her credits include, The David Letterman Show, The Jay Leno Show, Regis and Cathy Lee Show, Baby Talk with George Clooney, and special performances for Arnold Schwarzenegger and the Kennedy family in Washington D.C.
RIENA CASA [Student Teacher-CHEER & HIP-HOP] has been dancing for 15 years. She has studied all styles since the age of 2, including tap, hip hop, ballet, jazz, contemporary, musical theatre, and acrobatics. She attended Stars of Tomorrow for 8 years and has since then attended Elite Fine Arts Academy! She has performed in many recitals. She has attended dance workshops such as JUMP receiving scholarships from Kenny Wormald, and Misha Gabriel for Hip Hop and at NYCDA for Tap. She has also taken classes from multiple famous choreographers such as Mia Michaels, Mandy Moore, and Twitch! Hip Hop and Cheerleading are Riena’s strongest suits. She has competed in group numbers at JUMP receiving a high silver and bronze medal. She is also a varsity cheerleader at Port Charlotte High School. She is a senior and has been on the varsity cheer squad since she was a freshman! Riena plans on pursuing a career in dance and attending a performing arts college.
